Life Imitating Art: A Family Portrait

This is my "Family Portrait".
Me, my fella, and our lovely white puss Purkey who sadly is no longer with us.
I still love and miss him terribly, and I still love this picture which I painted around 2009/10. There's a lot of relevance in the artwork, my fella is a drummer (hence the drum, his nickname is 'watery drum-head') and I play double bass and paint..........
Another case of Life Imitating Art..... And what's this on my arm?
Yes its the strings of my double bass, except now it points to something more sinister which, in the throes of MS depression, daily injections, steroid fulled woe and triple therapies knocked me off my teetering brink into a downward spiral............

If you slash yourself up from elbow to wrist, you will get scars and deep lines which look like strings on a double bass. I'll always have these marks.

This Irony is not lost on me.

I imitate art, rather like a hieronymus bosch canvas of horror in a fucked-up fairground full of carnies.

Rides on the merry-go-round of my soul come at a price; 50p for once round, and all the coconuts you can juggle. This happened some time ago, but it is the price of life with MS, and I've done this, who knows what joys await me next?

*crosses fingers for spontaneous human combustion*

It's life man, don't take it too seriously- it isn't permanent....x
